What is noun ?
A noun is a word that names something, such as a person, place, thing, or idea.
Types of nouns
Proper nouns : specific name given to a person, place or thing.
e.g. Suraj ( person )
India ( region

Common noun : Word used for something i.e.
e.g. Bike
Town
Iron
Bridge
1 ) Abstract Noun : something you can not see or touch
e.g. feelings ( fear, happy )
states ( freedom, luxury )
emotions ( anger, sorrow )
quality ( honesty, courage )
moments ( birthday, marriage )
2 ) Concrete Noun : something you can see or touch ( opposite to
abstract noun )
e.g. cloud, zoo, tree,
zoo, sea etc.
3 ) Collective Noun : used for group of
people or things
e.g. band, class, crew, bunch, range,
tribe
4 ) Compound Noun : made up of two or more words
e.g. mother-in-law,
forget-me-not, paper-clip, black market, snowman, washing machine, blackbird
5 ) Gender-Specific Nouns : refers to something specifically male or female
e.g. actor, actress
grandson, granddaughter
uncle, aunt
6 ) Non-countable Nouns : noun without a plural form.
e.g. bravery, playing, milk,
wood, gravity, sugar
7 ) Countable Nouns : noun that can be pluralized
e.g. coin, man, note, udder,
table
